When I first started this blog (and posted to it infrequently) it was going to be a place to talk about my life and my family. And from time to time it still will be.
But events that we are all starting to see on an almost daily basis have changed that original intent.
The world is in a bad situation right now, unlike any time in recorded history. Global warming, vanishing wildlife, war, social injustice… many of the things that are wrong in the world today are all their own ways threatening the very existence of mankind. The governments and the mainstream media are, so far, too engrossed elsewhere to pay enough attention to the real issues.
It is my belief that the Internet, and the blogosphere, can be an important tool to help educate people on how critical these issues are. We need to get more people involved, to try and get the right people working on solving these problems. If this blog stirs even one person to take some form of tangible action, whether its challenging their government to take action on an environmental or social issue, or just starting to recycle a little more, then its existence is worthwhile.
As you read this blog, think of what you can do to make a difference. Knowledge is power.
